  • Opening celebrates NHS’s 75th anniversary

Southampton, UK: Leading corporate services provider, NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS), has opened new offices on Southampton’s Town Quay. Waterside Place accommodates 50 people, who provide payroll, pensions and other services for around half a million members of NHS staff.

The official opening will be carried out by David Edmonds CBE, Chairman of NHS SBS on 5 July 2023, to commemorate the NHS’s 75th anniversary. He will also present a donation to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service, in recognition of the incredible work they carry out every day.

As well as boasting sea views, the new office also provides employees with free breakfasts, hot drinks, and healthy snacks.

David Edmonds said:
“Our highly skilled and trained staff in Southampton ensure that NHS staff can concentrate on patient care secure in the knowledge that their pay and pensions are being dealt with correctly. This is a vital role that we are proud to have developed in Southampton.”

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Director of Income and Engagement, Keith Wilson, said:
“We rely entirely on the people and organisations in our communities to ensure our life-saving skills get to those who need us most. NHS Shared Business Services has supported us for several years and we’re excited to see this new office open in our region, hopefully cementing our relationship for years to come.”

The new office opening is just one of many NHS 75th anniversary celebrations organised by NHS SBS, which also include barbeques, quizzes and fancy dress.
