New Framework Agreements launched
The portfolio of framework agreements offered by NHS SBS continues to expand, with many innovative and unique products and services now available.
Offering typical savings of around five per cent, all framework agreements managed by NHS SBS are free to access (subject to membership, which is also free of charge). Our robust tendering processes mean that customers using our contracts have the option to make an OJEU-compliant direct award - or they can run a mini-competition to find exactly the right supplier for their needs.
Our agreements can be used by any public sector organisation, not just the NHS. This includes local authorities; schools, colleges and universities; the emergency services, housing associations and many more.
New or refreshed frameworks include:
• Medicines Management Prescribing Decisions Support Systems
The Kings Fund estimates that standardisation of prescribing practices for certain treatments (e.g. low cost statins) could save the NHS more than £200 million per year (2007, NAO). This Medicines Management Prescribing Decision Support framework agreement provides a compliant route to access a computerised system for increasing the effectiveness, safety and cost effectiveness of prescribing. The system provides clear and concise suggestions of more effective, safer or cost effective medicines early in the process when a prescriber has begun to prescribe a medicine that is deemed likely to be a suboptimal choice, taking into account relevant national guidance.
• Cloud Solutions
The Cloud Solutions framework offers a simple, OJEU compliant route to purchase cloud solutions for NHS and public sector authorities. The framework provides access to 24 carefully selected suppliers and offers both bespoke and off-the-shelf solutions. • Design, Furniture and Appliances
The Design, Furniture and Appliances framework agreement has been put in place to provide a compliant route to market for soft facilities management services across a range of settings including: office and residential furniture; ward and bedside equipment; white goods; blinds and curtains, catering equipment and much more including a One Stop Shop solution.
