Introduction from David Morris

Welcome to the February 2019 edition of our newsletter!

David MorrisWith NHS providers reporting a combined deficit of £960 million last year and predicted to approach £1bn this year, the publication of the Long Term Plan last month was awaited with trepidation by many.

With the "easy wins" already taken, achieving the ambitions in the Plan is likely to take a shift in the way systems and services are designed, developed and delivered across the healthcare landscape.

As a part of the DHSC, this is something we're very aware of - indeed, it's the reason we exist. Our services are designed with the future in mind, helping NHS organisations meet targets and respond to the national agenda.

In this newsletter, you'll find out more about how we plan to support our NHS partners in their journey to unlock millions of pounds of untapped back-office savings whilst futureproofing corporate functions through best practice finance, procurement and payroll services.

Spearheading this will be our Hello Future initiative, which demonstrates how we support NHS organisations to replace outdated, time-consuming and error-prone paper processes with affordable digital systems and more modern, efficient ways of working.

Elsewhere, we bring you the latest additions to our portfolio of Framework Agreements, which offer typical cost savings of around five per cent, as well as an efficient, compliant way to procure the goods and services you need.

Our new Exit Interview service provides you with robust and detailed information regarding staff turnover, at a cost that's usually less than delivering the same service in-house.

There's also an update on PHBChoices - our cloud-based marketplace which enables people with Personal Health Budgets to get the support they need to live as independently as possible whilst reducing the admin burden on commissioning organisations. And Bromley Healthcare CIC explain some of the benefits they've reaped from e-invoicing.

Finally, it would appear that Stephen Sutcliffe, our director of finance and accounting, has decided to mind his language......as well as sporting a very nifty pair of shoes.

As ever, if you have any questions or suggestions regarding our services, I'd love to hear from you. Just click here, or give us a call on 0303 123 1177.
