Is your NHS Organisation Ready for Making Tax Digital?
From 1 April 2019 the majority of VAT registered businesses will be required to keep digital VAT records and send their returns to HMRC using Making Tax Digital (MTD) compatible software.
Due to their need to send accompanying information with their VAT returns, the deadline for most NHS bodies to comply with the new requirements has been deferred until 1 October 2019, with a pilot to test the process opening in the spring.
NHS Shared Business Services delivered a webinar on MTD in the NHS, in partnership with HMRC, in December 2018. Hosted by HFMA the session covered:
- The background to the Making Tax Digital initiative
- How Making Tax Digital will affect NHS bodies
- What action needs to be taken and by when
- What lessons have been learned from the implementation of the initiative so far
If you weren't able to join the webinar live, an on-demand version is available to view on the HFMA website so it's not too late to learn more about making your NHS organisation ready for this revolution in tax administration. (Please note that users of the N3 network may experience a network fail error when attempting to access the webinar link. If this happens please try logging on again from a different network.)
