I have just reached my first year with NHS SBS and wanted to share with you some of my experiences to date and my aspirations for the future. For those that don't know I had previously spent my career wholly within the NHS joining the Regional (as it was then!) Financial Management Scheme and progressing across sectors and roles to become a Director of Finance.
Could your trust benefit from additional resource or expertise to equip capital projects on time and to budget? Did you know NHS SBS' Capital Equipping Service provides scalable project management support for the compliant sourcing, procurement, delivery and installation of all medical and non-medical furniture and equipment?
Over the last few months we have been continuing to promote the benefits of e-invoicing to our client and supplier base. NHS SBS have already processed 1 million invoices worth over £10,000,000 through Tradeshift in the last three years but need your support to help us reach our target; to ensure 100% of the approximate £170 billion annual spend is submitted via the Tradeshift platform in the future. This push to encourage electronic invoicing is also fully aligned to the Department of Health's eProcurement Strategy, NHS paperless agenda and Future Focused Finance.
In an effort to encourage two-way dialogue with our clients, we hold F&A client user forums throughout the year. The last user forums we held were in June, and took place in London, Leeds and Bristol.
Throughout the year we have been updating you on the progress of our Service Transformation Programme which is looking at how we stabilise and improve our current service delivery to you, whilst looking to the future with new service and technology developments. Following feedback from our clients we have decided to rename this programme to our Future Services Programme, to avoid the growing confusion between NHS England's programme of work for Sustainability and Transformation Plans and our own programme, which both use the STP abbreviation.
NHS Arden & GEM CSU in partnership with Chiltern CCG and Aylesbury Vale CCG are amongst the first in the country to sign up to use PHBChoices; a new simple and easy-to-use tool that delivers a seamless, end-to-end process for the delivery of personal health budgets (PHBs).
NHS SBS has a track record of delivering bespoke procurement consultancy work to its customers including mini competitions, request for quotation (RFQ's), strategic guidance and legal support. In addition, we also provide a large portfolio of frameworks across health and corporate services categories.
