Framework Agreement Description
The framework for the high level disinfection of ultrasound probes supports Trusts to ensure compliance with best practice guidance on the decontamination of ultrasound probes from Health Protection Scotland, Health Facilities Scotland, Welsh Technical Memorandum WHTM01-06 and Irish Health Executive. The framework agreement covers automated decontamination / ultrasound probe disinfection systems for use with semi-critical ultrasound probes and semi-invasive / non-invasive ultrasound probes. High level disinfection is required to kill the human papillomavirus (HPV virus).

When does the framework run?
01 January 2019 to 31 December 2021 with an option to extend for 12 months to 31 December 2022

All NHS SBS Approved Organisations. This includes any Public Sector Organisation in the UK
Overview of the framework
The agreement covers automated decontamination/disinfection systems for use with semi-critical ultrasound probes and semi-invasive / non-invasive ultrasound probes. High level disinfection is required to kill the human papillomavirus (HPV virus). The aim of this procurement is to support and work with Trusts to comply with best practice guidance on the decontamination/ disinfection of ultrasound probes from Health Protection Scotland, Health Facilities Scotland, Welsh Technical Memorandum WHTM01-06 and Irish Health Executive. Guidance is currently being developed for England to support this.
