Did not Attends (DNAs) cost the NHS over £300 million a year. One of the biggest contributors to this cost is empty operating theatres, which cost thousands of pounds every day. With theatre departments focused on efficiency to reduce elective care waiting lists, patients cancelling means an operating theatre could be sat empty, instead of effectively working to tackle elective recovery.
By implementing an integrated theatre system, it enables streamlined collaboration by providing up-to-date patient information between departments to allow increased productivity. This can help consultants, surgeons and other medical staff make more informed decisions about the correct treatment for the patient, as they have immediate access to the patient’s medical history.
An integrated operating room requires less time to prepare for every surgery than a typical operating room due to direct connectivity with other hospital equipment, devices and information systems. Our Audio Visual Solutions and Integrated Operating Theatres 2 Framework Agreement can deliver this, enhancing efficiency, communication, and overall performance during surgical procedures.
