The NHS requires internal and external auditing to ensure the organisation is accountable and well-governed, and to deliver quality services. External auditors provide independent assurance that the NHS is spending and accounting for public money properly, whilst an internal audit can provide a review on operations and processes that can also benefit cost savings.
The annual external audit is a key statutory requirement for NHS organisations that should provide important and valuable insight into the financial governance of the organisation. The audit process itself can be a challenging one for all involved with tight timelines and complex issues to resolve.
Our Internal and External Audit, Counter Fraud, and Financial Assurance Services Framework Agreement provides suppliers that will work in partnership with the NHS and wider public sector to a compliant route to access external audit services and internal audit services, financial assurance and governance plus counter fraud services which offers trained and qualified counter fraud specialists to undertake investigations. There is an overwhelming need for these investigations to be undertaken as it’s estimated that the NHS is vulnerable to £1.316 billion worth of fraud each year.
