NHS SBS’s pioneering AI Stroke Framework Agreement wins Public Finance Award 2024

NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) is proud to announce its innovative framework agreement for the provision of AI Software in Neuroscience for Stroke Decision Making Support has been named the winner of this year’s Public Finance ‘Solutions Partner – Digital’ award.

Now in their eighth year, the Public Finance Awards acknowledge people, products and services that demonstrate, excellence and originality within public finance, and organisations that have made innovative and outstanding contributions by partnering with public sector bodies and having a transformative impact on public services.

The award is in recognition of NHS SBS’s efforts to bring pioneering and cutting-edge AI stroke diagnostic software to the NHS, transforming stroke diagnosis and treatment pathways for patients across the NHS.

Every year, 100,000 people in the UK are affected by stroke. Speed in diagnosis is vital to treatment.

The procurement solution enables NHS organisations to easily and compliantly procure advanced AI tools that dramatically reduce diagnostics time – from 30 minutes to just seconds – empowering clinicians to deliver life-saving treatments like thrombolysis and thrombectomy in time-critical situations.

By simplifying access to this transformative technology, the framework agreement supports NHS Long Term Plan objectives to improve stroke care outcomes and reduce long-term disability and the associated costs that brings with it.
