NHS Shared Business Services scoops ‘Finance Team of the Year’ award

Leading corporate services provider, NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS),  is delighted to have been named the winner of  this year’s Digital Finance Function ‘Finance Team of the Year – Enterprise’ award, in recognition of the ledger reconfiguration programme it delivered, enabling the NHS successfully operate after the biggest change in 20 years.

The awards celebrate high-performing teams leading changes in the industry, making a significant impact in accounting and finance and consistently demonstrating commitment to excellence.

On July 1 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGS) were abolished and NHS England established statutory Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

NHS SBS’s Finance Projects Team led the work to close the existing 106 CCG financial ledgers and create 42 new ones for the new ICBs so their finance managers could work from Day 1.

In the largest project of its type ever delivered by NHS SBS, 1,100 data templates from legacy ledgers, 106,000 Accounts Payable, 5,000 Accounts Receivable open transactions, and over 400 General Ledger journals were transferred between the organisations.
