NHS SBS certified a Great Place to Work©

NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) is delighted to have again attained Great Place to Work© certification in 2022, achieving an overall Trust Index score of 69%.

The Trust Model is used as the definitive standard of what it means to be a great workplace, defined as one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with. To be awarded certification, organisations need to achieve a Trust Index score of 65% or more.

Dedicated to recognising and celebrating great workplaces across the globe, Great Place to Work© measures 19 different categories of what makes a workplace great – based on employee feedback, on for example, how much people enjoy their work, if they feel valued, and whether they can progress personally and professionally.

Committed to a healthy work-life balance for all employees, NHS SBS encourages flexibility in working arrangements which is supported throughout the organisation. Its ‘Future Ways of Working’ plans have been developed by and for employees, and include an emphasis on hybrid working, where individuals agree with their managers the blend of home and office working that suits their needs and that of the business.

Employees are encouraged, recognised, and rewarded for supporting and driving forward a culture of innovation through the business, whether this be technological advances in existing or new products and services, the optimisation of business processes that benefit the healthcare system, or enhancing digitalisation that may save the NHS money.

Performance is recognised and awarded through Star Awards, Business Excellence awards and the all-employee performance reward.

The organisation invests in its people through an Inspirational Leadership and Talent Development Programme; iLead and Getting the Basics Right training plus a comprehensive e-learning offer.

Erika Bannerman, NHS SBS Managing Director commented:
